Ka Bar Kukri and Gerber LMFII

What do you use or how do you sharpen them other than with a grinder? The KaBar seems too big to use with a sharp maker. I could probably use my DMT double sided Fine/Course for the LMF II. Thanks.

The LMF has a built in sharpener, So you have a plus with that

Yes it does. But it doesn't get it razor sharp like I get my folders. I can get a good edge with a DMT but not hair shaving.

for large recurves what you can do is hold some sandpaper over a large wood dowel or piece of pipe.

if you want a convex edge you can tape a piece of mousepad around the pipe under the sandpaper. get fine grit sandpaper up to 2000 grit at autobody stores or sometimes in the auto section of the big box stores like walmart.
