Hi pitdog, if you want a kuk to throw in the truck, ok. If you want the best Khukuri, buy an Himilayan Imports Khukuri as they are the worlds best, something you can pass down thru generations. Nothing compares to an H.I. Khukuri.

Hi PIt, i got a Kabar Kukri, its a SWEET blade, chops very well and easy to sharpen, lighter than a full kukri so its a nice every day carry on a walk or hike.

My sentiments exactly.

You can pick up a 15" HI Ang Khola villager for about $85. Backed by a great warranty you will never need. A HI khukuri makes the Ka-bar look like a toy.

The kabar kukri is great, get it as a first one and see if you like them, if you do, go get a HI one.
That ka-bar kukri turned my brother into a knife nut, very good chopper.

hey PITDOG! if your in the vancouver area, feel free to contact me and you can try out the kabar Kukri!

ive got one and my dad has 2 they are great!!! choppers and stab pretty well to. you realy can't go wrong for the money i plan to pic up a secound. the handle fills the hand nicley and is a good shock asorbing . it beats my cold steel kuk hands down.

The upside of the HI kukris is that you're getting a hand made knife from a third world country.

The downside of the HI kukris is that you're getting a hand made knife from a third world country.

If you want something to pass down through generations, buy real estate. If you want a decent tool, the Kabar will do fine.

You obviously don't own any HI khuks.

How thick is the blade of the KaBar? None of my traditional khukuris are less than 3/8",except the baby Kagas katne (sp?). Marcus

I think this is going to be my next purchase, I like the shape.
