I think 6Shooter said it best. The first set I got from Newgraham.com, although mismatched, did come with hardware. I was recently informed by Knifecenter.com that KaBar said the handles SHOULD come with the screws. I have nothing against Kabar, it was just disappointing to encounter these inconsistencies, and lack of "attention to detail". Yes, the stock screws worked just fine, and I technically don't *need* another set.....but if the handles are supposed to come with them, then I don't think you can fault me for calling KaBar. I definitely don't feel as if I was taking advantage of anything/anyone.
Knifecenter says the micarta scales should come with screws, yet apparently no one has ever received screws with their micarta scales? Or at least no one that has been involved in this thread has received them? That doesn't seem to be a problem with attention to detail or customer service. That seems more like a lot-wide (at least) packaging error. That or Tomars must have a crapload of extra mounting hardware.
I would never dream of receiving extra screws with the replacement micarta scales, so when I didn't, I thought nothing of it. And just in case anyone doesn't get it, my earlier post regarding getting gyped was in jest.
It is quite amusing that Knifecenter plainly states on the web-page that the scales are "scales and mounting hardware only." If I read that, I would expect to get hardware, too. Not having read that at Tomars, nor Knifecenter (since I didn't look there), nor read on here of anyone else receiving them (until this thread where you complained that you didn't), I didn't expect to receive screws, nor do I (again) feel gyped (other than in jest). BUT, I apologize for saying you were complaining. You were, but justifiably.
I guess that will teach me not to mouth off until I get my facts straight.
