things you'll need.
1. 12 pack of beer
2. 1 drinking buddy
3. Minimal backpacking supplies
4. 1 kabar USMC
5. One extra extra large log

lol anyway, just went for a quick one night cold weather trip. I didn't take much besides cold weather clothing/gear and I used the rest of the space for food and beer. I decided to attempt to split the big log I was sitting on. It got stuck. I decided it was a good idea to use a medium sized log to "baton" my kabar out of the log. Anywho, for those you are blind I have underlined the problem.

ps. I included my replacement blade. Wife accused me of doing it on purpose just so I could buy the RAT. lol there's a few other toys there too.

yeah just cancelled my kabar order from lastnight after watching the knife test video... I'm sure there good knives but I can get alot better slicers that I can't beat on for the same amount of dough...does that make any sense...

ah man. the problem with the KaBar is to be a functional bush knife, it needs modification. (top hand guard removal like mine). Other than that, I've beat the ever loving shit out of that knife. What I was doing to that knife is far far above and beyond what any knife I know of could take.

Quick story. I break stuff. I mean everything. My buddy has been flat out amused to the fact I haven't broken that knife. I've beat and used it as a splitting wedge with full on 20lb rock as a driver and never damaged it. It was only a matter of time. If that kabar isn't tough enough for you, you're doing it wrong.

I like the RAT WAY better though. much more funtional.

don't know how to send a link but if you google knife destruction test knife tests .com will come up and it's about half way down the page...

Still a usable knife, you just gotta get yourself a hammer and straighten that sucker. :D

Haha, that is one beat up K-bar! :D Nice work. What did you do to it, baton the handle from the side or something?

I'll bet that knife would return to you if you threw it right. Catching it again... now that's the trick. Mac

Better a bend than a break i guess. At least its still usable.
We needs after pics when its bent back into shape.

will do. It won't be easy though. It's not a "straight" bend. It goes down and over if you know what I mean. I need to find a cheater to slip over the tang instead of the usual 5lb sledge.
