kabar bk line?

I've been looking at the Kabar line of knives but don't think they are very practical. I hear a lot of reviews about people saying that they had to modify theirs. But what's the point in that. Shouldn't you get a knife that already suits your needs anyway. What do you think about this and what knife recommendation do you have for what you like to use it for?

Kind of like asking why do you change your physical appearance every few days by shaving, changing into different clothes, getting a hair cut. Or why do people decide to buy aftermarket wheels and tires for their vehicle? As it relates to knives, not everyone has the same sized hands, or the same grip strength, or the same aesthetic appeal. Some people like wood handles, others like G10, some prefer Micarta, and some even go nuts and want carbon fiber or even Kirinite. To go even further, some people like to tinker or work with their hands. Personalization, the one common theme all these things share and have in common.
