KaBar BK2 Sheath

After installing the teklok on my BK2 sheath, its become a whole new knife. Best upgrade for your BK2 IMHO.
I did have to remove my micarta handles and put my grivory back on to get that stiff blade retention back.
These are not the kabar grivory, but some that were made by a third party. They were a little bit thicker and were easier to draw from the BK2 factory sheath. Now that I ditched the strap, I decided I wanted the firm blade retention back just in case.

I am hoping my knife will show up before the weekend. I plan on getting up into the mountains.
It's more likely it will show up early next week.

I gota say this is a great site. I have been checking out what you guys have been saying about mods for this knife. Lots of good ideas. I don't have anything planned for my BK2 until I try it out. It sounds like the finish on these knifes come off easily. That doesn't bother me. This knife is meant to be used and abused. I plan on using it for camping and fire making.
Thanks for your ideas and suggestions.

It ain't diamond like carbides or anything, but I've stripped a couple and sanded a couple. Its alot easier to use stripper. :D

Plus, I agree, it doesn't bother me either.

Good to know about the "glass" not being in the new sheaths. I've heard of the same issue and it sounds like they have fixed the problem.

Right now it's still hit or miss which sheath you get with your knife from the dealer. Both have very tight retention on the first few draws, but it gets alot better with time. If you do get the glass filled one, keep in mind that the edge isn't affected to the point where you can't use it, it just will be a little bit duller.

I finally got my KaBar BK2.
I found an eBay ad for a new BK2 with Tek Lok Sheth for only $$. I paid for it and a few days later I get a package. What I get is obviously a cheap counterfeit. It says Ka-Bar on it but it also says "Made in Taiwan". It is VERY cheap and looks nothing like a BK2. When I contact the seller, his excuse is that he accidentally sent my knife to a buyer in Canada and I got his knife. He tells me to send my knife to an address in Canada and the guy in Canada will send me my knife. I am thinking whoever got a BK2 by mistake would keep it but since the knife I have has ZERO value to me I send off the knife but of course I make sure I get a tracking number. That works out to $30 for shipping but the seller says he will reimburse me. I still think I am getting ripped off but I don't have much choice but to follow these instructions. I was surprised when I got a PayPal refund for my shipping to Canada and today I got the BK2 with the Lok Sheath. I paid $65 for it but because of the sellers mix-up he got only $35 after straitening out the shipping.

Sounds like you met up with an honorable man, who took care of you after the hassle. Good job seller, and good job buyer. Not sure if I would have been able to go through with it, but I'm glad you did.

Hzah!!
