Did anyone get a chance to check out one of these? What is your impression? I have had one on order and am guessing it will be shipping soon.

No, I haven't tried the Ka-Bar extreme yet, but if it's Ka-Bar, I'm guessing it's pretty good. I have a Ka-Bar Next Generation, and a reg black one. I've beat the hell out of mine, and they still work great. Even took a hammer to the side of my Next generation, it didn't break. Should be a good knife, be surprised if it wasn't.

I haven't heard of this knife at all! I do like KaBar a lot and would like to see this knife. Where can I go to get pics of it?

Just because I talk to myself doesn't mean I'm crazy. What's wrong with getting a second opinion?

We were next to Ka-bar at the Blade Show so I aquired one of thier catalogs. You can look at a small picture at www.ka-bar.com It has a D-2 blade 59-60 Rc, -120 cryo treatment, four blade styles, anodized aluminum handles, liner lock.

Hmmm.. I've been wondering about the D2 Extreme for quite some time already. Good thing Tom brought up the subject.

How good is D2 steel compared to, say, M2, A2, 440V, etc?

I saw the pics. Neat-looking knife, if I may add.

Tom, please let us know what you think of the knife once you have it already.

Hi!
To mee it looks a bit like a Bob Dozier design. I like it. I hope it is avaliable in plain edge.

Dozier was involved at one point but don't hear anything more about this collaboration lately.
