Taking a page from the Becker forum's thread on designs you'd like to see (which I also posted in), I thought up a few designs that I think would be cool for Kabar to release.

These are basically similar to the ones I already mentioned in the other forum, but with a Kabar rather than a Becker twist. The bigger drawing (not to scale, obviously ;)) is a dagger version of the 1217 Fighting/Utility knives. 1095 CroVan blade, double-edged, 7-inches, same stock thickness as the clip blade, stacked leather or Kraton handle with appropriate sheath. Make a nice pigsticker or a wicked fighting knife with the toughness of the 1217.

The smaller is a basic axe/tomahawk design but with Toooj handle goodness. :D

Do you guys have anything you'd like to see or have dreamed about? "If only they would do *this* or *this*..." Let's see them!

Also, there's a lot of hubbub on the BKT forum about all the new items being released (Tweeners, etc.)... Anybody have any inside info/rumors/things little birds told you about the rest of the Kabar line? ;):D

I think you already got the one that I know most people have been interested in (the dagger).

Personally... for hard use stuff, I like full width tangs more, so while i would like to see a non-serrated spine on the big brother, I still think I would prefer the BK9 for those types of tasks.

A higher grind (or FFG) 1217 would be cool. It would look a bit like a MK1 that had grown up.

I also think a small thin necker type fixed blade would be neato. Perhaps with a leather wrapped handle.

And finally, I wish KaBar made a locking folder with a 2.5in blade. It seems like there are hardly any of those out there.

Well, thats all I've got for now. Should be interesting to see what other people come up with.

I mention the dagger because I have one of Boker's A/F daggers and, even though I really like it, the blade stock just seems to be too thin.

A higher grind (or FFG) 1217 would be cool. It would look a bit like a MK1 that had grown up.

I second this idea. With the single guard of the MK1. That'd be a nice slicer with a bit more reach... Like a Kabar BK5 almost.

I would love to see a dagger blade style, on a stacked leather handle. Caine had a thread here a while back with some drawings that he did, on the dagger idea. Looked damn good too.

I wanna see some larger blades. I love the BB, but I wanna see some 6/8" length blades, with wider profiles, and full flat grinds. And a large bowie. I mean big'un, say 10", with a Toooj handle on it. Yar.

I would love one of those daggers, I think it would look great in stacked leather or kraton handles, either way would be fine by me :D

I would have zero use for it, but the design would look fantastic with the "classic KA-BAR" platform. Very cool designs.

We know Toooj's combat khuk is somewhere in the pipeline. Other than a pile of new Beckers over the next few years I don't have much of a feel for upcoming KABARs.

My wishlist includes a Tsujimoto "signature" knife and a 4"/bushcrafty version of the Heavy Bowie (minus the perforations at the tip :D). The classic KABAR f/u platform leaves me ice cold so nothing new along those lines would excite me. But since Toooj was originally tasked to design a line to compete with Becker anyway, I'll go ahead and toss a Tsujimoto necker on the list as well.

Remember, KABAR holds their pd meetings on Friday, so get your wishlist posted here by COB Thursday so they can tool up and be in production on your design on Monday :)

I'd like to see the Dozier line with more colors. Yellow, red, and blue come to mind. Maybe a linerless G-10 version of the Dozier.

id love to see the classic kabar 1217 with a thick/wider tang. i love the knife, just sometimes wish it had a little more strength, more for peace of mind than practical purpose in all honesty

KA-BAR did make something very similar to your dagger design. It was called the KBD1 #1273. http://tomarskabars.com/1273_INFO.html

Great looking knife. Dozier design. Not a fully double sided dagger, but pretty dang close. Personally, I don't think see much of a purpose of a double edged dagger, other than being for pure fighting and stabbing. Nothingspecial did a good review of it before he got too filled up with hot air and BS.

As for a hatchet, I would really love to see KA-BAR produce one again. I wish I had picked up this baby http://www.tomarskabars.com/1331_info.html

A hatchet or even a hawk with either Becker or Toooj handles would just be swell.

Sqoon, I remember that KBD1 knife. Seen the video you mentioned, too. The dealer I usually buy from had one in his case for a while, played with it a few times, never picked it up because I figured it was too similar to my F/U I already had and newer and shinier things called. :D Sorta wish I had now.

BRL, which combat khuk is this? Something I missed in Beckerland, perhaps?

Its a shortened, kinda straightened looking khuk with the USMC style handle and guard. You can see it in some of the tweener photo threads, although I can't recall which one it is in right now. Sorry :(.

Gentlemen, start your boners!

(center khuk right under the Becker Brute)

From Toooj: "The Khuk with the F/U handle is an actual product. It is scheduled for 2012/13 release. We just have to wire down the sheath. Blade hardness should be in the 55-57HRc range. Project Name is: Combat Khukri. My design; Steel will be 0.165"thk 1095 CV; Made in USA."

Hell yeah. That's what I'm talking about. I'm a fan of the current Khukri, but a USA made Khukri in 1095 should be a real thing of beauty.

Ooh. I like the looks of that. And what's the name of that pretty white-handled piece third from the top? THAT looks interesting.

Also, Tweeners. :D :D :D

some custom. might have been discussed in the ask toooj thread, can't remember.

I brought it up in the Bk&T forum as well...I'd like to see a folder version of the BK11 blade, I like the Doziers ok but think the Becker blade would make a nice EDC, even if Aus8 and Taiwan made, I'd buy several, and yeah I'll go with some colors for the Doziers a'la Spyderco Delica.

since there are tweeners in this thread, i'm compelled to point out the tweenah thread over in BK&T... with new pictures, and specs, and such.

just so you know...

Thanks, Bladite. Saw that Tweenahs thread. Digging the BK15. :D

Custom scales, leather sheath... Mmmmmm tasty. ;)

I was just thinking about how awesome it would be to see a kabar with a fairbairn-sykes style blade, And that khukri looks awesome.
