Kabar replacement

Well I know it’s out of your price range… but.. I carry the Winkler Knives Belt knife as part my operational gear, it’s a great all around knife bout as a utility knife and a weapon. I have some training in the application of the knife in combat and I have found that this knife is just perfect for it. I have tried it out on a few old Kevlar vest and the point on the knife just went right through it.
A lot of professionals carry it. You won’t regret it.

I have spent some time gazing lustfully at Mr. Winkler's work. My blade training has been primarily Lameco Kali, but I have been at a few Sayoc seminars and have nothing but respect for the system. The fact that Mr. Winkler collaborated with Mr. Kayanan on several of his designs makes me really, really want to pick up both the Bontoc and the R&D hawk but, alas, I'm not in quite the income bracket to pick them up for pleasure, or the line of work to make them a priority of necessity. But I still WANT so bad!

iWell I depend on this knife whit my life. They are expensive but, well my life is worth it. If you ever get a chance get one

I would say you might want to look into a Scrapyard SOD .It is a decent cutter and chops like mad and isn`t too heavy and is tough as one could ever hope for.The res-c handles couldn`t be more comfortable even in cold/wet conditions. Have made a meal and split aged ash with it in the same day and never thought of another knife the whole time and I have plenty I could have thought of. I like and have many of the others suggestions like the Becker BK7 and a Swamp rat ratmandu both are sweet knives and some of my go to users but the ratmandu is smaller than a Kabar (but much tougher imho) and the BK7 handles are too slick(for me) and not great in cold weather .
