Kabar Short (5 1/4 inch)?

I have one, the tanto version.

I found it more or less unusable until i ground down the top guard...nice knife now.

Seriously, there wasn't a single grip that didn't end up with that thing digging into my hand.

So take note...the handle is a bit short and you may find yourself needing to make that mod.

I saw that japanese dude's x ray video on youtube of a short Ka-bar tang, and it seemed proportionally quite a bit larger.

Virtuovice did a Youtube review of the Kabar Short Kabar where it was pitted against the RC-3 and Ferhman Peacemaker. He spoke very highly of it and it excelled at skinning a deer.

He reground the knife to a scani!

That must have taken him a long time.
But is say a lot about the steel to hold that well.

My very first fixed blade! I don't know why but I got one with serration which I ended up hating. But it's a great little knife with a fantastic sheath! I've been toying with replacing it with a plain but I found it to be a real B__CH to sharpen because the primary grind is so short and the curve near the tip is very thick.

Very comfortable handle though.

I aint no fan of serrations either,they are right at the place where you want to cut most often with the plain edge..
