Kabar USMC 7" Opinions.............

I'd say get one as well. A nice addition to an line-up of fixed blades and won't break the bank. It's light and tough and a super all purpose/fighting knife. A bit on the long side for a camp knife IMHO.

I have a newer one and had one while in the Corps back in the 60's. I have no idea what ever became of it. I'd like to have it now. :)

Since getting my USMC KaBar, every person that I've handed it too has smiled or grinned once they hold it. There's just something about the knife, absolutely fantastic.

folderguy that looks awesome! What did you use for the patina? Mustard? I need to get mine with a more respectable finish than the black coating it has now.

Thanks, Eric!

I used a mixture of 8 parts hydrogen peroxide (3%), one part apple cider vinegar, and about half a teaspoon of salt. There's a thread where I detail what I did specifically to get that look: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/841378-Thanks-for-the-suggestions-here-s-my-humble-attempt It took some work, and patience, but I think it was worth the effort. Good luck with yours.
