Astrodada?

You may be inexperienced, but I was stupid.

Files are very brittle. I should have heated the metal prior to doing any work on it to soften it, THEN started working on my hand-made fullers. As it was, I took the most brittle metal and tried to reduce it for the fullers.

Yvsa, Sarge, Dan, and many others know so much more, I'll let them explain further.

Correct Astro, but in order to do it as you describe, one must have the means to reharden the blade afterwards, which Kis apparently did not. What he did have was patience and determination, two qualities that can overcome some amazing obstacles.

Now, just between you and me, if you want to put a fuller in a blade without forging it in, get you a 3500 RPM Dremel type tool with a round silicon carbide bit (wear eye protection). Yee haw, dui chirra kitchen knives!
