I've talked the wife into us going but the real question is this worth a 4 hour drive? We would obviously make a day out of it but still.

I haven't seen too much on this other than a couple videos on YouTube and stuff back from 2012, but what I have it seems like they have some great deals. I've been holding off on buying any more ZT's the past couple of months just to hopefully snag some users.

If anybody is going or has been before please feel free to chime in and let me know if it's worth the drive.

I have never been to this, but I have gone to similar big warehouse sales. What you most likely will find are very good deals on lots of factory seconds. I have bought KAI 2nds and had trouble finding the flaws. They also have free sharpening at this one. My experience with KAI is that the knife are pretty damn sharp out of the box, so take any Kai's you got and at least do that. I also bet you will see dc'd models you may have forgot about that will be available. Again, I have no direct experience with a Kai warehouse sale, but have gone to similar sales with other places and enjoyed the experience.
On the personal, non-knife part of it: I think it is awesome that your wife is willing to go with you. i think that is a heck a good sounding way to spend a day with your bride. Time alone, knife sale, romantic dinner....... Ain't love grand ?

I've gone with my wife each of the last 3 years. She gets great deals in kitchen knives, I get mine. It's also a good chance to meet and interact with other knife fans. I'm looking forward to it again this year.

Wish I were a bit closer. I've heard people say they stood in line for hours to walk out with nothing. Then I'll see someone else talk about all the amazing bargains they haul home with. Just never know. Go and be willing to buy seconds and such, and don't forget to return here to let us know how it went.

I've wanted to go for years, finally going this year. I'll be driving a rental car about 6 hours in hopes of getting a cheap ZT.

Just remember that kai started restricting zt sales at the warehouse sale last year.

Don't you think the cost of the rental car and gas and time would more than pay for any brand new ZT in the lineup?

Wish I was able to attend, but living in New Jersey, it would be a 48hr drive. Let us know how it went! Hopefully I will be able to go some other year.

Possibly, but if he went home with 4 kitchen knives and 2-3 kai products, primarily ZT line, for the cost of 2 at full MSRP, he would still make out.

Exactly. I would like to just go pick up a 0562, or 0301. Just 1 ZT and maybe a Kershaw Launch. I'm military so I can go in the "back door" but still don't want to go there with the wife and kid and have them sell out of ZT.

I would have to hear about that for a week lol. Looks like I'm just going to wing it and go anyway. Maybe can also pick up some decent steak/kitchen knives.

Would Friday be the best day to go or do they save some stuff for the next two days? Don't want to go on Saturday if it's all gone lol

Yes, what he said, take her up on it. They spread things out some , but Friday is still best.

oh yes, i agree. My wife's family lives in the area, we will be visiting them and doing some other fun stuff in Portland for a couple days. Cheap ZT's are MY main reason for going, but not the only reason we are renting a car.

My guess is that if there are any ZT's , they will be gone in a few minutes after opening the front door. They sold most of the remaining inventory last year and I would be surprised to see more than a handful at this sale. This is a really fun sale to go to, with lots of great savings and interesting things to buy, but if you are only going for ZT, you will be disappointed.

Get there and get there early. I'm still kicking myself for only getting one ZT 200. Totally worth hitting it. Lots of specials, limited runs and new ones. (also promo merch)

This bothers me lol If my wife goes then we will more than likely not get there before 10-11.. I have access to the side door where there is no line or just shorter (they say)..

When you say my guess is there any experience to that? I saw a video and the guy was walking around at the ZT area and there were 0301 galore for $125.. But this was back in 2012.. I'm okay with imperfections

I am planning on being there. Really hoping for some nice collaboration ZTs and maybe a kitchen knife. I am only about 90 minutes away, so it's no big loss if they are sold out.
But here's hoping anyway!
Also, is there another LEO, military line, or is it just an entry, or what? Has anyone here gone in through there before? I am military and am wondering what to expect.

I read on their website Military, LEO, and First Responders get in the side door.
