Greetings fellow knifeknuts and Happy New Year!! Here’s my newest iteration of the Kaibab Kommando. The Kaibab Plateau is north of the Grand Canyon, Arizona, a very isolated region with limited accessibility (real mountain man country).

52100- Dimensions - 5/32”x 12 5/8”” OAL and 7 3/4” from tip to guard and the height is 1 1/2”. Hand sanded to 600 grit for a clean satin finish. Paul Bos Heat Treat to 60/61. The edge was about .015” before sharpening. The spine is well rounded for a comfortable thumb, the deep swedge can be sharpened and it flares at the tip for extra strength. Balances on the front spacer.

The handle features a blued steel guard with comfortable access to the spine. Bocote with red and black spacers set off the elk handle and sculpted blued pommel. The handle is finished with multiple coats danish oil and carnauba wax. The handle feels fine in my average size hand but might not be so good for a smaller hand.

The premium dangler sheath features my custom Standing Bear carving. He’s been hibernating for a couple of years, just woke up, he’s lookin’ at you and he’s HONGRY,...nom,nom,nom.

I am still dreaming about this one. Perhaps my favorite of the J. Cahoon knives I have been fortunate enough to see so far. I think the hungry bear and his eager munching sounds are extra cool to top it off. Such a beautiful rig for real.😍👍

Hey thanks J jfk1110 and Grady slaughter Grady slaughter I really appreciate your kind compliments!! I hadn't done the Standing Bear in a long time so that's why I wrote that. Just to add a little fun nom, nom, nom.

It's a pretty fine build even if I do say so myself (and I do!)
My really smart wife has told me there is no limit...you can't have too much fun. She is usually right about things like that. Besides, she made my favorite apple muffins yesterday, and that is just what it sounded like when I came in from the shop and found them!
