Very Nice.

Never heard of the wood before so googled it and found,

Kamagong is increasingly hard to find now, and in its pure black form, is one of the five most rare woods in the world.

Wowsers.... That is some chopper and the wood !! Very nice , love the dual colors.

Thanks for all the really nice comments. Kamagong is from the Phillipines and is very hard to get. It is endangered and protected. I don't think trees can be harvested anymore. My sister's father in law knows a wood worker in the Phillipines who has a few pieces and got it for me. I got it for free along with some molave which is not as rare but very nice. ****Many thanks to "Tatay" Baylosis for his incredible generosity. This man is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He is also a lover of knives and he has a few antique pieces like a barong, pinute, and some balisongs. When I get a chance I'm going to make him a bowie using some of this wood.

That's a great sturdy knife and sheath combo. That's the way I like it done  Great purchase Dr D :)

If that's put in service you'll get years out of that one  !

Too late again!!! If you ever make another one of these I will be sure to get the first bid in. Love this knife. Didn't think you would put it up so soon.
Congrats to the buyer

Lots of talk about the wood, but I really like the quality workmanship of the blade. Nice, smooth lines and it looks like it has some fantastic heft. Great nab Dr. D.
