Today I bought an imperial kamp King. A little later I found that the scale with the logo on it is a little loose. I have another imperial with a similar, but not as bad a problem, so I tried to bend the little piece of metal up a bit as it isn't flat to the metal, no difference and it might have even made it a little worse. Other than that it is in pretty good condition and I plan on maybe making it my edc so any help would be great. Note I don't have any professional tools, just other knives :)

I have actually made it a bit better, but it is not perfect. Tomorrow I am going to bent the metal tip as far in as I can. I found out that I've torts hold it pretty tight or clamp it or it's just gonna bend even worse.

I love those old Imperials. I can usually find them very cheaply rusted up but still with a lot of use left once cleaned up. Great steel. The shell slabs are a pain but more durable than you would think.

I always wondered if I could drill a hole in them and inject some kind of epoxy filler.

We need a thread on the care, rehabilitation, and replacement of shell slabs.

Thanks. I even tried crazy gluing it, and while it still is a little shaky but not that much. It's the noise and the ability to shake it that drives me crazy.

I just bought an Imperial Barlow for $.50 and I've super glued the wobbly scales on.

Broken tip, rusty and dirty, the plan is to carry it, use it hard and clean it up and re-profile as I go. It's something to play with. Sometimes you end up with a respectable knife like that.

This might be the one I finally try to re-scale. I'd like to do that without complete dis-assembly.

That's a great link Dave.

I looked at the thread and I have to say that was pretty cool. Now I'm not that ambitious, and other than the one scale being a little loose it is fine :) After a little too generous amounts of crazy glue there is only the slightest hint of movement. In terms of what it was from when I got it it is much better. I oiled it, somewhat fixed the scales. Made the blade sharp all that fun stuff.
