No reason to edit you're post. I obviously can't remember the name of the road from 5th grade. My memory of this is from about 10 years ago, when I asked the people that worked at the archaeological center where the dig was at. They thought it was on Eldred road, but nobody could remember where exactly. But now, after Googling it, it was indeed on Eldred road. Like I said before, we go to this area all the time. My memory is not just from a child.

I edited it to add the part about your memory. It just seemed to me like you were challenging the fact that I was there for a week in 1975 and did a dig there.
I understand where you were coming from now, no worries.

Your post brought back a flood of pleasant memories of that week when I was in 8th grade. I had completely forgotten about the ferry - and it is cool to know that it is still operating. I wonder how many people even know it is there!

Pictures are awesome (as usual)! I love that area. Opposite of Pere Marquette on the Missouri side (I think it's the Missouri side, might be Illinois but middle of the river) there is an awesome state/federal land that is GORGEOUS!

My old boss was just telling me that he went to Fast Eddies the other day. Never been there, but have heard good things about it. I believe that's on Broadway, iirc.
