Hello dear friends,
Today i have the honor to present you the second from the new line of knives, a slim hunter-field knife with generous dimensions and aggressive look - a blade to impress both through look and functionality - 'Kanati'
The blade is made using D2 tool steel - the choice was made in order to best fit all aspects related to edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance and all together for an affordable price for the customer to get the most for the buck!
The combination of 0.16" stock and the full flat grind with a slim and aggressive profile makes it worthy of it's name 'Kanati' ('Hunter' of the Cherokee natives).
For the handle i used some local wild plum heartwood, an essence of wood that not only looks great, with rich colors and deep see through effects but is also fantastic strong and resistant to mold, rot and water (for centuries locals use this wood to make barrels for the most exclusive spirits as it gives a very nice color and a pleasant fruity smell; these are also the most expensive barrels due to the scarce supply of wild plum wood and it's dimensions + avid cracking)). Fittings are solid brass and blackened precision made steel screws.
In this setup i must say that this is a real 'gentleman's knife' with a fabulous classic look and feel - slim, light, elegant with a touch of vintage luxury.
Overall the knife is very aggressive in look has a fantastic grip, a slim geometry and cuts like crazy; preparing game, cooking, using it as a B&T or EDC will be a pleasure.
