Thanks for putting up that link, Cameron. I just checked Iowa's state knife laws, and it was a bit confusing. Can anyone tell me what an 'agravated misdemeanor' is, and also what the penalty would be for committing it? Thanks-

Not a problem chevyhp and KentDog, glad to help. I have no clue as to what an "aggravated misdeameanor" is but if you go to the knife laws forum I think they might be able to help you. Here (in Colorado) I think it's a class A (or class 5) felony for possession of a balisong or switchblade, that's a bunch of crap.

I DON'T WANNA HEAR ABOUT FLORIDA OR OREGON!!!!!

You guys/gals are lucky that legally carry around balisongs and switchblades, actually I think it is illegal for me to carry my Crosslock cause of the blade size, oh well!

jeez, my state is the only one around here that doesnt give you a "go straight to jail" card. and to think I was going to move to connecticut. screw that

I did not see anything there that would lead me to believe they are illegal. The Federal Court System has already ruled that a Butterfly knife is not a Switchblade. Each knife has to be judged on it's own individual merit. Thanks, JohnR7 www.BalisongKnife.com

RED FLAG: Just because a balisong is not a switchblade for the purposes of Federal law does not mean that it can't be a switchblade for the purposes of State law in any given state. Yes, the definition of a word can vary from state-to-state.

As Chuck states that laws can change from state to state, they also change from county to ounty AND county to city!!! I know that where I live, the city of Topeka, in Shawnee county, Kansas, the law even prohibits the simple possession of a butterfly knife, let alone carrying one! Damn, looks like a big sell-off coming!

Try Oddessy Martial Arts they are in the KC phone book. They have Jag's. The gun & knife shows are another good place. Or Steve and Leslie Ireland.

Aggrivated misdemeanor? I don't know. My state says it's a gross misdemeanor. I don't know what that is either. I can't even guess which one is worse!
