Karambit EDC

I EDC'ed a byrd hawkbill for several years and really liked it. It worked well for boxes, cardboard, and especially nylon ties. I'm not sure how the more curved ones do, personally, as the spyderco hawkbills tend to have a longer flat section at the heel and not as much of a steep radius at the tip. I used it a lot in a scalpel type grip, grabbing the blade instead of the handle and just utilizing the tip for box opening or more fine work as the byrd knife was a bit heavy in stainless skin.

I'm now EDC'ing a more traditional nice as I cut a lot of tape and shrink wrap these days and I like more of a flat blade for that use. I still much prefer the hawkbill for nylon ties though so it still get's use in the garage where a lot more items come sealed with nylon ties, especially bike parts.
