I've got a few questions about a couple karambits. First, has anybody used a Tops scorpions tail? How is the grip? I was also wondering about the grip on an Emerson fixed blade karambit? The hole looks pretty small. Also, what about the coating on the Emerson? How durable is? Will it take a lot of sheathing and unsheathing without scratching up the finish? For that matter how is durable is the finish on the Tops karambit? Hmmm, yeah that's about it. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

I have the Emerson fixed Karambit. Top quality, excellent workmanship, razor sharp. But it is a little bit too small for my hand, but I do have slightly larger than average hands. The finger hole size is fine.

Watch out when you pull it out of the sheath the first time. I could have taken my left index finger off. It didn't touch, but way too close for comfort. You have to pull hard, then it jumps out the first few times. Be careful!

Thanks. I was wondering about the finger hole. It looked a little small. How long have you had yours? How is the finish holding up?

The hole is pretty big. I think that's so you can reverse grip it. Finish is still perfect, but I haven't really used it.

Oh yeah, the wife got me a Model 10 for Christmas. It's outstanding. Great knife. I just got a little hard-on for karambits at the moment and wanted to pick up a couple more. I ordered the TOPS a few days ago and I think I'm gonna pick up the Emerson here in a little while. I was just curious to see how the finish on the Emerson would hold up. I'm trying to decide between the satin or the black.

I thought he did. If he doesn't, they are about $90. I think. Very nice knife. He's a member here on bladeforums, if you want to get in touch with him. Or I guess you could email his website.

Thanks rifon2. I had checked New Graham and assumed they did not have them becuase they didn't list Derespinas on the manufacturers list on the left column. I did find it when I did a search.

Emerson La Griffe is a "semi-karambit"; super sharp, easy to carry and easy to use. Emerson advises users to be careful when drawing it; it can cut an adjacent finger.
