Karambit

I really like the ontario karambit. As far as practical uses for police/emt...bad idea. They are instructed to stage while officers clear the scene. If they needed a weapon, it would be much more practical for emt's to have a baton or pepper spray, since it is a control weapon. Many people forget that spilling blood also exposes you to HEP C, HIV, and other fun stuff.

I carry a manix 2 at work, it comes down to practicality. Ican't use a pointed blade like I can use a more traditional shape (it will cut a seatbelt just as good.
If I was ever disarmed at work, would I stick someone with my carry knife? Yup, but that would be only if my life was in danger and I couldn't wait for backup or disengage. I would guaranteed be charged, anf quite possibly lose my job because it isn't department issue equipment.

Just not practical man.

To each his own and this is strictly my opinion but I feel Karambits are for Special Black Op Ninja counter terrorist wife beaters with a beer belly and camo pants.....but again, to each his own.

Damn it, I don't have camo pants, and my abs are showing...I better get rid of my karambits.

No...she actually reversed an arm lock on me and damaged my elbow in the past (seriously...it was during sparring).
So I couldn't beat her even if I wanted to. :D

Oddly enough, I had the same thing happen with my girlfriend...after teaching her some basic Jiu Jitsu, she has better arm bars than anyone else I've ever trained with :)

Perhaps you could just WEAR a wife beater then to fulfill the stereotype.

I stand corrected more people dislike than like. You can't deny it is a small but growing group. If one or two movies would feature them the popularity would grow like crazy because you know if it's in a movie its good or true. I just love the what the hell is that effect it has.
