Can anyone suggest an excellent folding Karambit? Built like a tank, holds an edge, etc... Thanks for any info you can provide!

Is the Tarani Folding Karambit Utility Knife - Master's Model any good from karambit.com? IT does have S30V steel and seems pretty solid...

That model has been sold out for at least 5 months and doubt it is coming back (the one on karambits.com). I have never heard anything about them. Emerson folders are very popular, I never cared for the Spyderco ones. Maybe someone else has a suggestion outside customs. There are plenty of good makers who make folding kerambits but the price would be around $500 for most.

I like the Emerson, but I would prefer the S30V over the 154CM steel. What are the diferences in the steel besides S30V being more corrosion resistant? Any other brands out there??

I've got the Tarani Master's model, and it is a fine knife. Unfortunately, it does not look like it will be back (as noted here). Perhaps the contract with BladeTech ran out?

You could try here; they have some of the same models as Tarani's site.

Best regards.

Thanks for the link to TAD...I had seen those before, but I really like that Tarani Master's model...just my luck that they're sold out. Do you really think they discontinued that model?

Yeah I do, I looked at hat page a few times in the last 6-7 months and they have been sold out the whole time. Give them a call, they may be getting them in and selling through them, but I doubt it. Even so, they may be able to let you know if they will get another run or if they plan a new model.

Well, I just called the number that is posted on their website, and I got an aswering machine with aguy saying to leave a message if it's for "such and such" a person. Didn't sound like they had anything to do with karambit knives! Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow.

Well, since the the Tarani Master's Model is gone and I can not contact anyone there at karambit.com, is there a folding karambit out there similar to the Tarani; S30V steel, lock-back, ambidextrious, etc...?? When I do a search for karambits, all I get back is the Tarani and Emerson Combat.
I like the look of the Emerson, but I've heard people say the liner has failed on them, and also that it gets rust spots easily. Is any of that info valid, or is the Emerson a "sure bet"?
