• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I promised Karl I'd send him a pic so I thought I would include you all

I have one of these

I've used it for years and I really like it

Well all but the plastic handle

Lately I was a using it and I got the handle loose so I thought since I'm going to the Blade Show I won't epoxy back on the old handle I'll look for something a bit different for a suitable handle

I was at a table of a vendor that had some neat African game horns and I happened to run in to Karl

I like Karl

He's a bowhunter and all around great outdoorsman and makes a hell of a knife to boot

I told him what I was looking to do and he was ever so kind to offer up his opinion and help me choose something

I promised I'd send him some pics

So here you go

An Unbreakable Umbrella with a Kudo Horn Tip as a Handle

I reamed it out with a big drill bit and than cut it flush to match the button base

Than I sanded and tapered the horn to match up

On the carbon shaft of the umbrella I scuffed it and used a saw to make some notches

Than I filled the horn with Acu-Glass and some fibers and set the shaft in place

A light buff and I'm pleased

Thanks Karl

That's KICK@SS Joe!! I need one of those myself... SO tired of the 'lady' like umbrellas I normally have laying around. Ha.

Joe - that rocks!!
You're a man of many talents and impeccable taste.
I am thrilled to have been in on the ground floor of one of your innovations. :D

Very nice Joe - looks like there's going to be a run on Kudu horn :D

Joe, I thought you were a "regular guy," but now I see that you are really a "man about town." ;) :D

But seriously, the kudu horn handle is beautiful, and accurately portrays your hunting background. Great choice, and good on Karl, too.

That's a great umbrella anyway. With the kudu horn handle, you can stab first and then bludgeon them.

Thanks guys

I'm feel very fancy

To echo my favorite Disney musical/cartoon .......... I use antlers in all my decorating :)

Not really an antler but close enough :)

John Steed could've used one to go with his steel bowler!
Or...
Joe needs a steel bowler :D
