Katanas, pix and deals.

Wrongfriend,
While you may not be able to import a "katana" from the US, I can't help but wonder whether Japan's Generalized System of Preferences for products of underdeveloped countries (including Nepal} might not be a basis for asserting the legality of a directly imported "Nepalese native handicraft/agricultural implement" with appropriate accompanying bullsh... excuse me, I mean official paperwork (with lots of official seals and stamps). (I think Uncle has on occasion arranged for direct shipments from Nepal). Maybe worth talking to a real (Japanese) lawyer about.

I would take that horn handled one if I wasn't already lined up for a special order Kenpo model. Any word on when those might be done Uncle Bill? Only one thing at a time. I am drooling though.

I concur with regards to the scabbard, not on any kind of functional problems. The looks just don't appeal to me. Also, I like the tip one the top one, the curvature on the bottom one, as well as it's handle, and the scabbard to the top one. These features together could make the ultimate HI Katana.

Bro you're exactly right about the first YCS by Sanu being probably the best khukuri that BirGhorka has ever put out. It is the most perfect khukuri I have seen to date.
But if the 21" DCC had of had the magic stone finish a bit better it would approach the 1st YCS in perfection!!!!
The Scabbard definitely is perfection with its deep tooling!!!!!

And Sanu is one of my favorite kamis even with the distasteful Christian Cross, that most people would see it as anyway, that's his signature mark.
But that's just my taste as that symbol always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I ignore the implications of what it may be and look upon it as a sword or the 4 directions.
And Sanu also made the as forged Hanuman blade I got. And if anyone ever doubts that those fullers aren't hammered in this blade will absolutely show them that they are!!!!
Excellently executed in every way!!!!

That is a beautiful sword. Uncle, please pass on to Sanu that the more pronounced curve is well-liked... at least by me. Please keep making them until I get the bucks..

When all else fails...JSTF :D

The curvature in a traditional katana is a result of the forging process, pre heat treat the blades are straight.

Good enough for me.

I find this thread just in time to see those two terrible words mocking me. Both swords look great, but the horn handled one is really a beaut! I definitely give the curved blade a "thumbs up". I guess I'm going to have to quit my job so that I can be home when Uncle Bill posts all of the deals (but then I couldn't afford them. . . hmmm. . . need a better plan. . .). Something I've been hoping for, and I miss out on not just one, but two chances! Pardon me, I'm going to hide in the corner and sulk now.

Havoc,
I have a plan for you my friend!
Here's what you do. You get a Palm VII, with Internet Access, or some similar palmtop PC. You take it to work with you, and have IE on this page 24 7 refreshing as fast as that little puppy can handle it. Sound like a good plan???
