The pic shows a recent addition, the Kumar-made Neem-handled Katunje on top in comparison with Sher's Katunje interpretaton on the bottom. I bought the Sher knife in late May, it was an orphan straggler on a daily special. These are my favorite small HI blades -- excellent handle fit in the hand, captivating blade profile, neat carved knurling on the handles, and FAST handling action.
Both khuks are exactly the same length and profile, the Kumar knife looks shorter due to parallax and camera angle.
Left side view; knives interposed:
One big difference save the handle material is the inlay in the Sword of Shiva in Sher's knife, vs. the blackened etching in that of Kumar. It's touches like this that lend a unique personality to each knife, reflecting the unique personality of the craftsman behind the knife.
Finally, a pic comparing the size of the 13" Katunje with a 17.5" Gelbu Special, another of my favorite HI styles:
Best,
Noah
