This is my first Kydex sheath that I have made. It was fun. I improvised a sort of toaster oven, with a heat diffuser, cookie sheet, and some aluminium foil, set up on a gas stove top.

I tried some different ways of pressing, but did most of the shaping with just my hands, insulated with terry cloth rags. I decided that making the sheath with one side flat would be easiest.

Seems to retain very well; I tried shaking it every which way, and could not shake the knife loose.

i like the knife in the sheath you made which is very nice too! but may i ask what is that lovley blade?

You mean the blade you couldn't see, because I didn't post a picture that shows it? That's a Helle laminated carbon. I order them from Ragweed Forge. ragweedforge.com

that's pretty sweet. I tried making some sheaths from PVC pipe I had laying around but the walls are too thick and whenever you heat it it wants to go back to it's round pipe shape.

yes thats what i meant, sorry for my poor choice of words. multi tasking isn't always the best lol
