So, I'm adding another grinder to shop and rather than going with another TECO-FM50-202 (great VFD btw, just a bit inconvenient for my needs on this project) I'd like to go with a KBAC-24D; the only issue being a lack of familiarity with the product. I have seen a few sites where switches, both on and off as well as reverse and forward, are optional and it brings me to ask, what is included when you buy one of these vfds and is it possible to run a disc grinder with it as is or is it mandatory to purchase those extra switches? Thank you guys in advance.

That's a really good price. The drive comes with just the start/stop switch. I added the power switch and reverse switch. It's very simple to add these switches yourself, just order them when you order the drive. If you don't have the power switch the drive stays powered up 24/7. I like the option of shutting it off completely.

the KB dealers charge fiftyish bucks for a ten dollar ish switch

Read the manual, the setup instructions on the KMG Beaumont site, the threads here

It's really simple and the documentation is good.

The reverse switch uses low power control circuits and the switch used for reverse can be inexpensive.
