anyone know anything about keen kutter brush axes? i was told that they are collected by some as antiques. i recently acquired one and if it is worth something as an antique i will leave it as is; if not i will probably use the steel as it seems to be quite high quality.

I think it depends on the shape its in . Have seen allot of info on them and Keen Cutter items moving on "E" bay .

its not in sorry shape but certainly not mint. the previous owner attempted to sharpen it with an angle grinder and screwed the bevel all up so i cleaned it up on my belt grinder so it looks decent now. also one of the handle loops had broken and was welded shut; that being welded not forge welded. it may be worth more as a user or as knife material seeing as how the previous owner may have screwed the pooch for me but who knows?

i'd see if could get a blade or two out of 'er.
a good blacksmith would know what to do.
all good
buzz

it just so happens that the man who told me that they are sometimes bought by collectors is a very good blacksmith in clyde,tx.
