Keep up with our jungle trip in real time

Jeff must be doing some pretty hard battoning with and RC-6!!! I just saw he caused an earthquake all the way over in Colombia.

This SPOT thing is way cool. I like using it with the satellite view. Damn, but that looks like some fun terrain!

Yeah, looks like they made some pretty good progress hoofing it from the one stream (spot# 42) to the other one (spot# 47). The little tributaries are so small they don't show on the map, except with satellite view, but I can't tell if they are passable by boat or if they hiked *along* the stream (for instance from spot# 37 to spot# 42).

I guess the good news is they are normal status messages, not emergency messages, so I guess no accidents with anyone cutting their foot badly or anything. Being out in the boonies away from urgent medical care, I didn't ask but I assume Jeff and the other leaders have pretty good first aid training to handle any emergencies?

training..who needs training..there's directions on the back of the bandaid box :D

and as far as hiking vs. boat http://www.jungletraining.com/survivaltracking.htm there's an itinerary on his website. yeah..i'm a better stalker then you :p

Looks like they are following the river. Gotta be by boat. 46-50 looks like a fun little stretch to explore.

Hope they took bug dope.

If they're heading down stream, they probably practiced making their flotation devices and that's how they're covering so much distance.

I'm waiting to get in on one of these Amazon trips. I'll prolly be doing one as soon as its offered after I leave the Marine Corps. They just dont give up the time for me to go do somethign like this

Looks like they'll be making it back to Iquitos today?

I'm new to the whole SPOT thing. Is there a way we can see how far they've traveled or anything like that?

I can tell you where Jeff is. Checking the spot device right next to me, here in iquitos! This thing is cool! We are back out of the jungle and no worse for the ware. Mike and Jeff throw an awesome class down here and fully immerse you in real time stuff. I´m going to have to be pried away from this place kicking and screaming.
