What are some knives that you guys would never get rid of under normal circumstances? I know they're just tools and fun toys for all of us but if nothing forced you to give them up, what would be the pieces in your collection, or wishlist that you would absolutely keep. Either till you die or to pass down to children, etc. Just curious what pieces you guys are super crazy about. It can be more than one for sure.

I've whittled my collection down now to about 12 or so folders, and 4 fixed blades. All of which I would be more than happy to keep forever. There may be one or two I could stand to give up but for the most part they're all staying.

Folders:

- Hinderer XM-18 3.5
- Spyderco Shaman
- ZT 308
- MBK Old Guard
- Benchmade 940
- Spyderco Amalgam
- ZT 0462
- Boos Blades Smoke
- ZT 0640

Fixed Blades:

- Hinderer Emmett
- CPK DEK1
- Custom Robert Erickson I had made
- Redmeadow Knives Cowbell

P.s. these are my current collection. My wishlist would be too long lol. Dream knives would be another thread.

I don't know if I'm reading it wrong, or if you made an error, but the sentence ending in the words I emboldened doesn't make sense to me. Did you mean to say "never keep" or "never part with", or words to that effect? If so, might want to correct it to avoid confusion :).

As for my absolute knife treasures, and some of my most treasured and prized possessions (exceeded only by my motorcycles), are the first 3 knives pictured below. They are heavily customized Cold Steel Ti-Lite 6's (2 autos, one manual), and they represent my greatest life-long knife dreams come true.

If there were a fire in my apartment building, these are the first things I would grab (all in a plastic tackle box/divider case on a table next to my computer). I also have a third T6 auto, but I made that with intentions to sell it (not an advertisement), however, as long as it's in my possession I also regard it as one of my treasures, equal to the other three (in fact, I like it so much I'm having a hard time deciding whether to part with it).

Although I would miss some of my other knives if they were lost, I'd get over it. But if the knives pictured below were lost, I'd be devastated (I put A LOT of work into them).

And just for the hell of it, a group pic of all three autos ;)

This one, just because I like it.

And these two. The Böker I got in Solingen, when my wife and I went to visit her family in Heidelberg. The tiny Benchmade was a gift from a good friend.

There are others that have some special meaning to me, boring stories that nobody wants to hear.

You're right, my brain must've gotten ahead of me lol

Those are some very cool, very unique pieces! I'm down with that, and you've got plenty of reason to cherish them.

Spyderco Renegade PE first production
Spyderco Military 440V first production
Spyderco Gunting 440V first production
Spyderco PM1 CPM D2 sprint
Spyderco Native Chief (all versions)
Benchmade AFCK PE satin first production
Max Knives Perrin/Janich Confusion 440C first production
Microtech Ultratech D/E PE tan/DLC

All of mine are keepers.
But some of them have a special place in my heart...
Those are the ones I'd be buried with...
I have my Grampa Denman's hunting, and three other knives that he made...
Those will follow me into whatever comes next.

Almost all that fall into the 'never get rid of' pile are sentimental, honestly. There are others I love, but at the end of the day they're just things.

A non-comprehensive list of ones I wouldn't ever get rid of by choice:
HI Khukri gifted to me by a very generous BF member and friend basically just because I'd gotten some bad news.
HI Khukri gifted by my fiancee as a thank you.
M. Nieto knife my folks brought back to me from Spain.
Buck 110 Slim Pro gifted by my father as a replacement for the first knife I ever owned, a Buck with a broken tip he owned and gifted me when I was maybe eight that's long since lost to the sands of time.
Benchmade Bedlam the fiancee got me.
Benchmade Auto Presidio the fiancee got me.
The Angry Inch made by the inestimable Mecha Mecha that I won in a very strange contest.

I'm loving these replies. I should've clarified it differently, when I made the post I was thinking what knives would you keep just based on purely the knife itself. I know everyone has thar sentimental or hand me down gifted knife from some loved one and those were kind of a given lol. It's still fun to hear about the special pieces like that though

This thread pokes me in a very tender spot. Those 4 special knives mean more to me, than anything else I own.
I remember watching him shape those blades, and make the sheaths...
I bet that was such a cool thing to watch. I long to be a maker here on this forum one day, those craftsmen type are a different breed.

My Buck 119 Special Pro and XM-18 non flipper fuller.

The ZT 0604 is quickly climbing the ranks but it’s still fairly new.
