Keeper Knives

My Grampa was my World back then. Every smart thing I ever learned: came from him. He's been gone almost 40 years now; yet I still treasure those times.
Lost 2 of the 3 I've ever had. The 2 I lost were the 2 I grew up with the most. Still not over it and never will be of course, but it hurts just as much as the day they left

I'm loving these replies. I should've clarified it differently, when I made the post I was thinking what knives would you keep just based on purely the knife itself. I know everyone has thar sentimental or hand me down gifted knife from some loved one and those were kind of a given lol. It's still fun to hear about the special pieces like that though

I don't have any knives that are so rare, unique or valuable that I couldn't replace them. The only real treasures I have are the memories that a few knives bring me. Like the little Gerber LST that I gave to my mother. She admired it when I used it to remove the child-proof tabs on a soap bottle, so I just gave it to her. My father always hated that I carried a knife, but after he died, she returned to her farm-girl roots and liked having a knife of her own. I found it in her purse after she died. I still have the Kabar pen knife that I got from the Katz drug store. I was about ten, maybe eleven years old. The little Benchmade auto that I carried on the first date with the woman who became my wife and the Buck 500 I carried on our wedding day. Those are worth keeping.

Those LST's are among the best knives Gerber has ever made if you ask me. Nice that your mother liked it and kept it handy.

I've talked about them: here they are. IMG_15012022_204045.jpgIMG_15012022_204101.jpg

Turns out, I wanna keep my collection. :)
My Natives, Millies, and Chiefs are my users and my serrated salts are a must for yard work: Caribbean sheepfoot, DF2, Tasman Salt, Native salt.

Two Chaparrals, a Maxamet Sage 1, Para3, and a PM2 are my fancy wooden scale urban EDC knives.

The Manix 2 S110V, the Spydiechef, Swayback, GB2 are not essential, but certainly nice to have in my collection. I could go either way, but the GB2 and the Manix 2 are getting custom scales and I think that means they are staying. Also I am a sucker for titanium, so the Slysz knives are also staying.

Small and Large PJ Sebenza 21 and an Inkosi Insingo.

Buck/Mayo TNT, my first folder.

Must have Victorinox: Minichamp, Explorer, Cadet, Pioneer X, Cybertool Lite, SwissCard and a Spirit.

Ten Barkies in various steels and patterns, but matching elder burl handles.

Sometimes I also carry a Fallkniven WM1 and a Ruike Hornet, I see no reason to sell them.

Choppers: Condor Mini Duku, Bushcraft Parang.
