I have been camping around the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Colorado and, Western Minnesota where cooking Pinto beans has been a problem. Finding a pressure cooker that isn't too large, heavy, or bulky as been a challenge. I need something compatible with a backpacking gas burner.

I could see this working well for rice or anything 'steamable'. How about with dry beans at reasonable altitudes? Or should I look for something like an Afghan pressure cooker and just deal with the weight and bulk use it on a bed of charcoal?

TIA,
Sid
