Kel-Tec pistols - yes or no?

I bought a kel~tec p11 lightly used. Took it home loaded the mag, chambered the round and bang. Piece of brass was lodged against the firing pin, causing it to stick out. I flipped out, round narrowly missed my hand went through three walls and right under the water heater. Took it to a professional for an inspection and thorough cleaning. Went bang every time after that, didn't matter what I fed. At nine yards it shot 8 inches high and 5 yo the left. Definitely a gun to be used within breathing distance. Im interested in a sub2000 though.

I own a P3AT and carry it very frequently in a Desantis nemesis holster- I have other options for CC in 9mm and .45ACP, but the beauty of the little kel tec is that it is incredibly easy to carry in my front pocket when I don't want to wear a belt and holster. I have owned 3 Kel tec's and never had any issues with them except for a P11 that would stovepipe if I limp wristed it and we all know that is shooter error not a weapon malfunction. I keep the P3At clean and make sure i run a few rounds thru it when I am at the range. It has always functioned perfectly for me and I do trust that it will go bang if I need it to. If I automatically got rid of every pistol that has a malfunction, I would have gotten rid of a Sig P6 and a 1911 years ago- mechanical things can break. If you dont want a kel tec but want the compact size get the Ruger instead. Oh and Kel Tec has incredible customer service!
