Picked up this Kel Tec sub2000, in .40 s&w. If you haven't seen one of these yet here's a cool thing it does:

Holy Crap. Sam you really got the bug. And you live in NEW YORK? I'm surprised you can even buy it there. You will have a lot of fun with that. Now comes the expensive part, AMMO

Yeh Chuck, it's bad :), NO MORE for awhile though I need to pay bills! I was surprised I COULD buy it in NY, I'm glad I could though because once I saw it I NEEDED to have it :) It's so compact, fits right in my scooter storage compartment too, length of pull is shorter than any other rifle I've ever held and I like it. The folding part is INCREDIBLE, it was one of the main reasons I bought it, locks up tight. .40's not too bad, only a couple bucks more per 50 round box then 9mm.

You guys are lucky buggers. Sam that is awesome.

No luck with that here with our draconian aussie gun laws.

Matt

I bought 2 Beretta CX4 Storms, http://www.berettausa.com/products/cx4-storm/default.aspx ,one in 9mm and one in .45. I have had the .45 for close to 2 years now and love how it shoots. I just picked up the 9mm to compliment my SR9C and am having problems with it. The trigger will not reset and have to mess with it to get it to go bang. It's on its way back to Beretta for a second time:mad:. I am sure it will be resolved though Beretta is a good company as far as I can tell. Anyhow have fun, I am sure the soda cans a trembling in their boots.:D

The beretta looked real nice! the main point though that got me on the Keltec over the other carbines was the folding part, it's mighty handy. bummer about the 9mm! Beretta's good though they should take care of it no problem.

Matt sorry!!! I don't take it for granted, I feel grateful for the right to own guns and dig I'm carrying out the second amendment, feels more important than voting hehe though I for sure still vote :D

I didn't think that would conform to NY rules ! If you shoot it up here give me a call so I can inspect it !

Love the demo and especially the facial expressions at each step.:D

Good on you, looks like you're building yourself a pretty awesome little arsenal.

Re: ammo costs these days, GA Arms is offering free shipping until further notice and has really good pricing on their "Canned Heat" deal, which is 500-1000 loose rounds in a can. Runs from $.26 - $.30 a round. Hard to beat, even if you reload. http://georgia-arms.com/40sandw-1.aspx

Go shoot that thing and get back with us on a full review.

P.S. - Nice display of trigger finger discipline. That's your first "Safety" right there.

Robert it must I bought it in NY, not from a trunk either from a licensed firearms dealer :D

Thanks Taylor! I look like that everytime I open and close it lol. Yup, family's growin :D thanks for that link that's a good price!!! Too damn cold to go to the range down here on Long Island, but I should be getting upstate by the end of the month and finally be able to run some rounds through it.

You're most welcome, pal.

Just make sure you wring that sucker out and give us a full review.

I've been a fan of pistol caliber carbines, way back since lever action manufacturers realized there was a market for them.

I love being able to consolidate the diet of my firearms when I can.

Regards,

Taylor

P.S. - I know you're already good about this, but "Pictures or it didn't happen" on the review!:D

wish I had the dough to get one of those cans, money's gunna be tight for awhile though, plus the truck's in the shop. I've had it for a couple weeks now and have not shot it yet, it's making me stir crazy!

Nice find. My brother in law and I are looking for the right project to build. He has done a few AR-15's and is a Marine. We still can't agree on what to do next.

He could make an AR in .458SOCOM .It matches the 300 gr 45-70 loads which work great on deer !

Sam,

I decided to take a pic of my Tac family, Left to right, Rem 700 tactical in .308, My newest acquisition (yesterday) a .308 AR10 with BMG lower and DPMS upper, Beretta CX4 in 9mm, Beretta CX4 in .45, Ruger SR556, Rem SPS in .223, and the little one in the front is the GSG5 in .22LR.

I have been wanting to add the .308 AR package for a long time. I really wanted the SCAR but just can't justify the $4-5K for gun and glass. So I found the AR10 at the gunshop yesterday and it followed me home. Now I need the glass and a BU sighting system. Now I am done for the next year or so. Anyway thought you might enjoy.

*droool* thanks for the photo Chuck! Nice family :D speaking of .308, I been looking at the FNFAL clones, the Cetme sporter rifles, and hearing some good things, but think I'd like to add a bolt action larger cal longer rang rifle instead.

very cool

Yea I started with the Bolt Guns. Use them for hunting. I figure with what I have I am good for a lot farther than I am able to shoot. If the Zombie hoards show up here they better like lead. Now I need that sign at the end of the driveay, "If you can read this you are in range."

I love that sign :D

I've been wary until now about getting a rifle setup with a nice scope then taking the time to sight it in, but I think that'll be next.

It really does not take that long to sight in a scoped rifle. Have it bore sighted first. Then get a grid target, the one with 1" squares. Shoot at 50yds first. I shoot 3 rnd groups. Aim at the same point and see were it is grouping. Make you adjustments. After you zero it about 1" low at 50 then move to 100yds and do it again. It normally takes me 2-3 adjustments at 50 then 1 or 2 at 100. Then the fun really starts. If you get into reloading you can really dial it in. That .308 on the far left shoots .65" groups at 100yds. That would be even better if I do my part.

As you can tell I love to shoot. Just can't afford to take the time or $$ to do it as often as I would like.

that doesn't sound too bad, guess i'm intimidating myself over it.

I'm loving shooting the more I do it, only been a couple months since I got the 870, since I just shoot for fun I buy mid level guns in the 300-500$ range, that shoot relatively cheap ammo hence the 12ga, .22 and .40 (i'd of liked 9mm, but it's only a couple dollars difference). I'm headed out to the Long Island rifle range in Calverton today to work off some steam and cheer myself up.
