Found the Kellam site, browsed around and found the Mellenium folders with 3" AUS9(?) blades and CF scales. Very slick and looks like a slim, comfortable knife to carry. Anybody knows someplace that sells them? Has anybody handled them and can offer some opinions?

The Kellam Site: http://www.kellamknives.com/home.html

Thanks!

I can tell you about these knives. They seem to be identical with knives I found in Italy, but there they went under the name Viper, or Fox. They are made in Italy, and the steel is some kind of 400 stainless, probably 440a. Even at the price I found them for(about half of the price on Kellamknives webpage), I wouldnt even consider buying them. They had thin flimsy linerlocks and their finish were quite rough.

Always thought the Kellam knives were made in Finland and their fixed blades seem to have a great reputation. Thanks for the info - stopped me from wasting my hard-earned cash.

I think the knives You saw in Italy were different.
The Kellam folders are made in Finland out of AUS9 not 440A.
I saw a very favorable review on one of them somewhere on bladeforums (if I find it, I'll post the link here). I considered buying one, and it is still on my list (after I pay off ht Darrel Ralph knife I ordered)

I have read favorable reviews of a dealer in NY State who carries many of the Finnish/ Swedish/ Norwegian varieties. I believe he is Ragweed Forge at similar name web address. Give him a try. Or simply order from Kellam direct. I have dealt with Harriet Kelloskoski in the past and she was a pleasure to work with.

Kellam has gone through at least 2 generations of folders. I know that Cousin C is definitely correct about the first generation: made in Italy, my guess is by Fox. I don't know where the later ones are made, although consensus in this string seems to be that they're made in Scandanavia.

Whoa, I just checked the web page, I'm definitely way behind on my Kellam info! It looks like they've gotten a whole folder product line, made from different manufacturers.

I like those Teho Tommis!

This is an interesting discussion. I have found that Kellam has at least 12 different kinds of folding knives. Have you seen their gorgeous new damascus blade Enchanter knife?Price is very reasonable for the high quality folder that it is.
