Kelly Black Raven Madness on the Bay!

I've been watching that thing over break. My dad couldn't believe it. Killer piece, though it's pretty obvious the finish on the face of the axe and the embossing are both fake.

I collect WW-2 items and there are more fakes then originals on the market today. fortunately I started when it was easier to tell them apart. And lets just say I have spent more then this on a single item more then once. It's been like 10 years since I was tricked on a fake. I gave the full size photos of this head a good look-over and have no doubt it is totally original. Additionally the seller did not seem to know anything about it and was probably hoping for $50. Not the style of a guy passing fakes.

Whoever bought it was plain dam KuuRayZee! right?

M3mphis told me that PIPEMAN pm'ed him and he is the one that bought it.

I missed this post ;-))) After being a picker all my life I can tell ya that I can't bring myself to pay retail for anything old, far less 7 times retail. Yikes.

So does anyone have ANY idea who nabbed this?

This is turning into that episode of the Twilight Zone where all the power in the neighborhood goes out and everyone starts to turn on one another.

Obviously it wasn't "obvious." You should qualify your opinions as your opinions. Besides, if the embossing and finish were all fake, what's so "killer" about it?

I think then that M3mphis set me up, and since Pipeman didnt buy it, it must have been M3mphis. Nice try, but the secret is out!

I sure hope it wasn't a friend from the forum after I shot my mouth off about value. ;-(
It's a great mint example but i've seen others as good or almost as good for much much less. Watch the "Buy it now" crowd start cranking up their asking prices. ;-))

Best regards

Robin

You got me...well, it came in today. I'm incredibly sad to say that I think it may be a fake after all. What do you guys think???

It looked a little more real in the ebay photos, now that you have it I am suspicious that it just might be a fake!
:)

Just make sure you hang it upside down and then sell it.

I hung a TT splitting maul "upside down" over the weekend. I think the stamp on it is upside down, because if the stamp is right side up the shape is upside down. Unless you are supposed to be able to read the stamp when the maul is leaning on the wall, head down. If that makes sense.
