Kelly Kettle Part 2

FYI.....

I came across 3 other Kelly type kettles while searching for something else. It seems that the original Kelly Kettle co. is now having them made in China. :barf: A group of ex-employees is now making their own version. It called the Ghillie Kettle. It has some improvements like a whistle instead of the cork and a bail with a wood handle. There is also one being made in S. Africa called the Eco-Kettle.

I am just posting this in case anyone is thinking of buying a Kelly Kettle. They may be just as good as the original, but I would be a bit upset to see MADE IN CHINA on mine.

D'oh. I've just gone and bought a 1pt Kelly. I would much rather have had the Ghillie, mainly because they do a 1 litre version. That boils enough for two good-sized brews, the Kelly only barely does.

They are made in the UK, not the US.

As far as I can tell, the 1 liter size is only available on eBay. I believe it's also called a volcano kettle.
