A couple of years ago case ran a deal on how they dye their jigged bone, saying beleive it or not black was one of the hardest colors to dye. I pretty much agree with it now. This is a long slim knife and the blade sits dead center without rubbing and also the cantilever effect of the long blade does not hit inside.

Specs

Blade and spring ATS-34, cryo quenched, Rc62, 3/32" stock.
Blade is hollow ground 400 grit hand finish. Cut swedges.
Bolsters, liners, sheild, and pins stainless steel, liners are mill releived.
Scales Ken Coats dyed and jigged bone, gimp sheild is double pinned.
Closed length 4 7/8", open 9" back is flush open, closed, and half stop positions.
About a smooth 5 on the pull open scale. Nail nick-Long pull.

To see the finished product it doesn't seem like you have much problem with it at all!
Very nice pattern. So, what dye do you have to use to get a good black? Or is that a secret?

The knife is sold, Thanks. To dye black I use a combination of black oil dye, and another
black oil stain to give it depth and the under grayish color
Ken.
