Ken Erickson lockback

I have been making fixed blades for 4 or 5 years now, slips for 6 months and lockbacks for a day!
Actually I started this monday and finished it today.

I had a customer request a lockback about the size of a Buck 112. Other than that he left it up to me.

4 inch closed
440c blade and lockbar, spring
brass liners-nickel silver bolsters
nickel silver bar shield
amber dyed stag carved bone(really nice looking alt to stag)

I have to make a belt pouch yet for this knife..

Great looking knife.:thumbup: I agree, the amber "near stag" DOES look good and is a "believable" alternative to the real stuff. Fit and finish is excellent, very cool package

The only thing I would have done different is omit the shield or put a different type of shield flush with the top surface of the bone.

I did wrestle with the shield. This is the first bar shield that I have put in. The bone is very contoured in the area were the shield goes. This being the case and the fact that I loosely styled after one of Remingtons knives I decided on the bar shield. I am not sure If I did it again would I put the bar in.

I think I am going to make this pattern in a slip.

You did a great job on it for sure. Flushing the shield down in the groove is probably much more difficult to execute, so a hardy "way to go" to you for that.

I admire your work. It's very clean in the details from what I have seen in the images provided.
