Hi,

It has come to my attention that I have made some knives "out of order" and delivered them. I truly regret this situation . Not to make excuses but I wanted to offer an explanation. I was unexpectedly inundated with emails and orders soon after posting pictures of my slip joint work. As I took orders I would try and keep track of when a customer committed to me making a knife and then would put them in order in My received email file. I have also over estimated my production ability. My main goal is to try and offer the best knife I am able to. My intention was not to snub anyone of you that may have placed an order with me and feel that you were put behind someone else.

I know that a large part of the custom knife experience is trust in the maker. For this reason I still will never ask for money down and put the customer under no obligation to purchase the knife after I send pictures.

If anyone that has placed a order with me wants to cancel that order I understand or If you would like to know a more approximate delivery time feel free to email me.

Respectfully,

Ken Erickson

I would personally have to say that Ken's knives are well worth the wait.

Ken is also one of the truly good guys who works with the customer to get a knife that is made to your specifications. I would just say - keep up the good work Ken!

Take your time, Ken. I'd rather have exactly what I want and what you're capable of making than risk you feeling rushed and it reflect in your work. :)

That's very good of you to be open & up front about it Ken:thumbup::thumbup:
I don't think you will have any problems.

As a maker myself I can tell you Ken is a standup guy and this post shows the
character of the man.

No problem here Ken, I look forward to purchasing one of your great looking knives in the future.

Take care,

Wow, your knives are gorgeous!!!

They are certainly worth the wait as they are some of the sharpest slip joints I have ever seen.

You are going to be very, very, very, very busy!!!!!!

But I grabbed one of Ken's knives when it posted on the forum. I did not know he had a list. But I am sure glad I did, you will be pleased when you do get yours, I was surprised at the fit and finish. Ken is not only a great maker but a stand up guy. Well worth any wait.

I have been giving away Micarta in the shop talk forum and know how easy it is to get emails mixed up and orders misplaced. I can only imagine what Ken has been going through.

James,
PS: For those of you that missed his last one>

I think it's great that you recognize the problem and are aware of how peeved it can make some customers. This goes a long way. I went through a similar situation with another maker who I had bought three knives from, I thought I had earned a little loyalty by then... it kept eating at me until I couldn't stand to look at the knives anymore and sold 'em all off.
