KEN ERICKSON 4 1/8 jack

SOLD $575 shipped conus, Paypal fees included

I have been wanting to make a large vintage pattern jack and had come across this Hibbard,Spencer and Bartlett jack scaled in Ebony. The overall size of this knife made what I thought would be an interesting single blade , straight jack working knife. I decided to scale this one in some pretty nice stag. Good color and I was able to haft it keeping most of the figure as it was cut nice and flat. My rendition uses premium CPM154cm steel and backspring. This being a large working knife, the pull is appropriate (I think) 7 or 7+ on a scale of 1 to 10. While being on the heavy side the blade opens with a fluid and very smooth action. Great walk and talk. The blade centers perfectly when closed.
You can say "I will take it" here, pm or email me. Thanks for looking!

4 1/8 closed straight jack
CPM154cm flat ground blade and spring .160 blade stock as is HSB.
Long pull nail-pull
416 Integral frame/bolster
Pinned shield/410 stainless
Stag scales, matched nice from mark side to pile side.
7 to 7+ open and closing
Half stop.
3 1/4 oz.
Shipping priority US mail, insured in protective case.

As a bonus I will include the knife I used as a pattern. Walks and talks, ebony is in good shape, blade is used up! :grumpy:

Wow Ken, another beautiful and classic example of form and function! If funds permitted, I'd be all over that one.

Can't you just see Charlie (Waynorth) out bear hunting with that jack in his possibles bag. :) :)

Really nice working knife for sure Ken, and i bet once used enough so the scales have that palm-worn look, it'll be even more special to it's owner.
I have the excellent big 2 blade Jack you made for me, with a similar large Spearpoint blade, so i will pass on this one. And that's a good idea too as 'everyone' who really loves Traditionals should have the chance to own a K. Erickson knife.
I'm waiting for a pattern i don't yet have.
Bet it's spoken for before midnight !

Ken, Ken . . . OH Ken! Manomanomanoman! I love the way you do bone, but this is your best to date.

That bolster is fantastic, and the swedged long pull blade is pure classic. Just gorgeous.

Ken,

Here I am tied up on work "stuff" for a couple of days, and Boom! a great knife is posted for sale by you. Really nice!

Congrats to the new owner! I am sure that the new owner, (if he doesn't already know), see that you are one of the best! :D
