Check this new beast of knife by Ken...... I want one by Kershaw!

With onlays like the groove but with Carbon Fiber and some crazy laminate steel...yum.......:D

At the very least does Kershaw have plans for any sort of Spear Point folder?

If you consider the Spade to be a spear-point, then I have to tell you, I already own a Kershaw spear-point folder. The JYD. :p

Actually, a true spear-point has the spine of the knife running symmetrically through the middle of the blade. The Spade (and the JYD) are drop-points.

Spear-point blade:

ya know, the spade looks ALOT like the cyclone. thinner up the middle than the cy, but the blade shape is basically dead on.

awesome looking blade!!

I'm down for any kind of KO/Kershaw collaboration(sp?), they've all been great thus far!

Wrinkle, eh? Hmmm...like the handle a lot! The blade shape just hasn't spoken to me yet...

I like the overall shape of the Spade.

I think it would probably be fairly popular as a production knife. It would certainly be great for the people that just don't like recurves.

Ken or Imp, is that a newer or older design?

The Spade (and the JYD) are drop-points.

I would definitely call the Spade a drop point, but I would probably be more inclined to call the JYD a modified wharncliffe rather than a drop point. Not too much separating those two profiles for sure, though, either way you look at it.

I do think a Kershaw Spade would have been really cool, it has always been one of my favorite designs by Ken.

I designed the Cyclone around the Spade blade. I did change it slightly just because I liked a little more width at the base of the blade. I call it a modified spear point but then again I can never seem to do anything without re designing . That blade shape is a real multi purpose performer. I like the way it works so well I have designed several knives utilizing different aspects of this blade shape. Glad you like it !!
