ken onion's speed-safe mechanism?

Tommi and MartialWay,

While visiting a friend in another state, I had the chance to look at a Mini Task at nice knife store. It worked just fine, and I opened it in the correct way (chieftd can vouch for this!). I would have purchased that knife, but I bought something else instead. It was based on that experience that I ordered my own MiniT several months later. Tommi, I guess you had better luck than me, as it took much more than a "reasonable push" to open mine. Maybe mine was just too tight -- I don't know. All I can say is that I knew how to use them from previous experience, and the one I got was very unreasonable, both in the sharpness of the stud and the amount of pressure it took to raise the blade.
Nonetheless, I do hope to find a Mini Task that works, as I really like the size, shape, and workmanship of these knives. I will try again one day, hopefully at a knife show (if I can find one....).

have fun,

Wow, Louis said it Perfectly. Study that lesson in kinestheology. I just watched myself open my mini task knife. Several times. I do it the same way Louis does. So should you. It's really very easy, and saves skin, time, and energy (a maybe a little blood).

Try a Speed Safe knife, you Will like it. (shameless advertisement for which I expect Nothing because I'm stupid)
