Just wanted to get some input.
I am the President of the East Ky Sporstman Association in Pike county Ky.
We have a 3 acre gun range and from time to time have different events, like cowboy shoots etc. I was talking with some of the guys the other day about having a hammer in this fall or next spring.

Just wondering how many makers would be interested.

Thanks

I went to a Hammer-In at the ATV park in Harlan Co last weekend. I might do Pikeville. Need details. A lot of folks like to camp out. For those who don't need motels close by. food, facilities, all kinds of things come into it. HEY a combo hammer-in and informal shootin' match might be fun. Winners get extra tickets for the IITH!!!

If its before November or after next May, when grandma is here to babysit, I’m in. I agree side shooting match wouldn’t be a bad idea either. Now how do I shoehorn the forge and the smoker into the stationwagon?

Sorry I missed the one at the ATV park. I didnt know about it. How did it go?
Plenty of room to camp out on site. Also the range is just a couple of miles from Pikeville, plenty of hotels, restaurants etc.
I was actually thinking of something like a "pioneer" weekend. Maybe have the hammer in along with muzzleloader shoot, turkey shoot, archery contest etc. It would be cool to have hammers beating iron in the morning and black powder blasting in the afternoon.:D

Sharpe
There is a brand new RV park less than 10 miles from the range.
All the squirrels there are good.:)

Oldschool
I was planning sometime late Sept. early Oct.

Again this is just in the early planning stages, but I would love to get enough interest to have one.

Might be wise to avoid the weekend with Knob Creek and the big knifeshow in Louisville. Knob Creek is October 9~11th according to their site and the Knife show The National Knife Collectors Association (NKCA) it appears one is Louisville October 2~4th and Lexington October 26~28th. I've also got a note on my calendar for a Wilmington OH show in Sept 12~14th But that shouldn't affect this.
