Kentucky's greatest export!

KAAK, I don't know what it is, but I only smoke cigars when it's cold outside. It'll be a couple of months before I fire one up.

okay... I gotta ask :D What is cold to you? lol

On a side note... Was cooking to death at work today. Shop was around 82* inside all day

Don't forget, I'm at a much lower latitude. :D

Here's a pic of what I'm doing tonight...

How do Cohibas and Monte Christos range on the quality scale of fine cigars? What is the best of the Cuban cigars? What is the best/ your favourite?

I'll let you know on the cubans...

Hey Hammy, on a side note, my local shop got some of them legal cubans again. Basically these are fillers and leaves that are 40+ yrs old, kept in humid storage and after long court dates, etc were purchased and rolled outside cuba. If you want, I can IM you the info. Crap load of smaller sizes too.

As for favorites. Baccarats are a nice intro cigar IMO, but the one I had last night was my last. TOO sweet. Gurkha's are excellent, but $30 a stick. Ashtons are another fav. But my favorite stick for $7 is a Blue Bear cigar hand rolled locally :)

That's a thought. But I wouldn't advise it personally. I smoke roll-your-own cigarettes, a pipe, cigars and just found some delightful peach chew. I enjoy them but wouldn't encourage anyone to take up smoking.

However, when you're old enough, the occasional cigar is quite enjoyable and relaxing. You don't inhale them and is a delight for the pallet. Kinda like your pallet getting a treat like you getting a piece of infi :)

Peter, I actually went to Cuba a few years back, and bribed my way into a tour of the Partagas factory (every brand of Cuban cigar is made there, they are separated by the quality of the leaves).

To answer your question, the finest and rarest of Cuban tobacco leaves go into the Cohiba brand. That said, Cohibas are made in other countries as well (under license, they pay royalties to Fidel), and they are not necessarily the best tobacco available.

If you can get your hands on a real Cuban Cohiba, you can be sure you are smoking one of the finest cigars available.

If I recall correctly, Monte Christo is second in line for the choice tobacco in Cuba.

Peter,

BTW, don't start smoking cigars until you're 21 or 22, it's a bad habit for a young man and you'll just look silly.

Exactly. Also will stunt your growth. I started smoking 7 yrs ago and quit growing at 6'2". :grumpy: But in all seriousness, excessive smoking will make you look ALOT older and in a bad way.
