You just don’t see enough Kepharts around these parts so here's another of my tributes to the iconic blade in 1/8" 52100. It’s the first one I’ve made in 2 years.

I stayed somewhat faithful to the original, including the profile (of course), lightly convexed to the spine and flared front scales. In general "everything that needs to be there is, and nothing is there that doesn't need to be" (paraphrased from one of the articles I studied). The blade does have a subtle leaf shape, because I like it that way!

Dimensions10”OAL and 1 3/8” tall, 1 3/16” blade– a tick under 5” from tip to scales – Hand sanded to 600 grit. Edge before sharpening was .012” or so and it is very sharp. Balances behind the front pin.

The scales are Leopardwood sanded to 1200 grit with 5/32” carbon fiber pins. The handle feels great in my average size hand and will fill a larger hand as well. The Tracker sheath is a snug fit with great retention yet easy to deploy.

Absolutely stunning. Kepharts may be the best blade shape. Enough straight edge, enough belly, perfectly pointy and can make a PB&J as good as any butter knife. You just get it all. Wish I had knife money, John, I’d add this to beauties I already own of yours.

Yup old Horace knew what he was about. I seem to recall someone writing that they heard him say the best thing was you could get the last dollop of peanut butter out of a tall jar without getting it all over your hands, (or something like that!) That's especially important when you're out in the woods and can't wash your hands in the sink. Hee Hee!

ETA yeah times are tough and money is being spent on silly things like gas and food.

I love Kephart style knives, and this is exceptionally nifty. The shaped handle and wee curve almost visible in the handle on the bottom. Really subtle stuff, John. Slick as a mink.
