I would like to thank Soup Monger for the SWEET idea on the horizontal carry.

I whipped one of these up tonight - put both on my right side - and the carry is PERFECT.

I love the design of the Companions carry. It hand JUST below the belt horizontally so it is out of the way of the pack. I put it on my right side above my right hip around to the side and then my dangler FT Kephart right in front of it. Both knives are secure and at hand.

For those that are iffy on the design of the horizontal - hold on - let me get some on-belt pics tomorrow - I am sure you will love it!

Really like the looks of that horizontal one for the companion. Does it stay in there pretty secure?

Nice job.

I love them both.

Be sure to find some hottie to model the horizontal sheath. I speak for the forum when I say that we really don't need to see a closeup pic of your backside. Just sayin'.

CountryBoy: Because of the wetform - it is VERY secure. No issues.

PBW:

DANG! I will have to delete the pics where I was wearing ONLY the knife and my belt.

I like that a bunch! Could you do that as an add-on to an existing sheath?--KV

KVaughn - I think you can actually... I am going to have to check that out. Is you used a thin needle you could simply stitch by using the existing stitching.

EDIT: Yes - it can be added - the stitching on a Sharpshooter sheath - for instance - is loose enough to add these straps - I think you would have to add a complementary color - OR - stain the whole thing though - you are never going to get them to match.

Thanks for the great idea!

Darteres,

PM is fine.

TF, those look great. From the looks of your design it seems as if you could even overlap the sheaths on your belt. Does that seem like it might work?

Yeah - a bit. The reality is that I wear it a little more closer to the other knife anyway - the handle of the Companion can be worn OVER the dangler leather.

very nicely done TF... i like that horizontal sheath.. i have been meaning to make one for one of my knives...

Horizontal carry is often very convenient, your Kephart Companion looks really handy in it .Very good knife too. I like the Dangler approach as we here in Finland are used to a sheath that doesn't stab you in the ribs when you sit down for a break or drive off.

Nice work all round.

That looks awesome!

The knives and sheaths look pretty good too.;)

If I had my druthers I'd go for Chicago Screws over snaps. Snaps can wear out over time. Really great sheath. I dig it a lot.
