Good Afternoon,
I had to get at least one Kephart out with spring on the way. I like to do these in AEBL more than any other steel. The balance of toughness, edge retention, ease of maintenance and stainless are the perfect combo for an outdoors / utility knife like this.
This blade is made from 5/32" AEBL full flat ground to 400 grit and finished on an ultra fine scotch brite belt. The finished spine is 0.140".
The handle is resin composite and stabilized burl.
The sheath is kydex and comes with a clip and a fire steel. The firesteel handle has a small groove I filed in that rides the side of the sheath and locks it in nice. If you prefer a teklok the top 4 holes are spaced for this as well.
At 5.6 ounces this knife is very easy to carry. For reference a standard spyderco military is 4.5 ounces
