Kerry Hampton Knives

Kerry, Thanks buddy! That's just what I had in mind. I can't wait to get my grubby little
paws on it and throw it in my pocket! It's begging to be used. Etched blades and grinds look
awesome! Bone is perfect as well. Just the color I wanted... Doesn't get any better than that
my friend..... Thanks again buddy!

Congrats Jason, you scored big time!

This project started so long ago I forget when it started. I do remember a certain forum member from way up North :p sent me an old knife to take apart and pattern. The thought was someday I would make him a similar knife but I would build it with a leather punch instead of a pen blade. Literally years passed. A few weeks ago I got up the gumption to tackle my first 3-blade folder and here is the finished product along with the old knife that I patterned.

The blades and springs are made of A2 and etched to give it the dark patina. The punch (also a first for me) is dagger ground and works well making holes in leather. The sheep's foot and master blades have a nice thin edge and sharpened up nicely. The knife is covered in old German jigged bone.

I used .025" liners and spacers (cut liners) the same as was used in the original knife. The mark side liner is doubled up with a cut liner to allow for additional space for the punch and sheep's foot blades to pass each other.

Kerry, That looks "GREAT" I dig everything about it. Sheepsfoot is nice, love the shape and that swedge is a beauty! The grinds on the punch
are awesome.( Not for everybody). Bone is nice as well. You know I like the etched blades, They're had to beat. Just a very nice Cattle Knife. Hard to
believe it's your first three blade... Congrats to you and Charlie both.

Jason

Kerry that is gorgeous. I love the swedges and that punch is just too cool. Thanks for giving me something to dream about.

That's an eye-popper for sure. Absolutely gorgeous.

Kerry,
Marvelous for your first attempt at a 3 blade. You should take more chances, if they are as successful as this one!
Love your blade combination, terrific!

Congrats on your first three blader, Kerry! I'd say it's a success! Beautiful knife!

That is waycool Kerry. I like the sort of "larger than normal" jigging, if that makes any sense at all. I always like your etched blades, I think that brings out the lines very well. I've known custom car builders that used certain colors that bring out body lines the same way.

Holy moly. I see what you were excited about Kerry. That knife looks awesome.

...I would build it with a leather punch instead of a pen blade.

That there was the giveaway, even without the geographic clue. ;)

Beautiful job! I love the the lines of the punch, and the swedge on the sheepsfoot (ooh la la, for that one).

Good thing you etched the blades, lest he be tempted to boil this one. :)

Very nice Kerry! I like knives that "come out of the round" on the bolster without being
under or over bladed- good job.
Ken.
